We are two dear friends that share a common love affair for food that have come together to provide the world with our culinary adventures. Both of us have a slight obsession with food that often gets us into to trouble as we are constantly on food websites and typing out new recipes. It is a problem, we know.
So why fight what we can’t help? Creating a website dedicated to food was our only option really. There have been many lost hours in Le Gnome, Paderno and grocery stores. Walking down the baking isles at the grocery is a thrill for us, finding a scarce ingredient is a treasure and the more we explore the culinary world, the more we want. It is fantastic to know there are so many different possibilities for food and we are determine to uncover as many as we can.

I have lived in the Edmonton area all of my life and have secondary education from various avenues – business marketing, graphic design and an Education degree just to name a few. I guess, I am just addicted to learning new things. However, in the end, I am most at home in the kitchen. I am a baker at heart with an insatiable appetite for sweets (there is always room for dessert). I love to experiment with food and learn new techniques. New gadgets and recipes will literally make me squeal. I have slight obsession with cookbooks, which begs the question – Can you have too many cookbooks in the kitchen? My favourite colour is pale yellow so naturally many of my cakes and cupcakes will be decorated accordingly. I have a wonderful husband and a little puppy who are both the center of my world. I love to be active so I try to keep myself busy with outdoor activities – running long distances is my current obsession.
Also, I am 100% a morning person and as such do most of my work in the kitchen as soon as I get up. I can’t stand to be cold for long lengths of time, which is odd because here in Edmonton the winters are incredibly long. And I get really cranky when I hungry, so I am often see with a bag of carrots in my purse!

Jenn I like to spend my time in the kitchen or hunting second-hand stores for vintages treasures. I am obsessed with Pyrex dishes. My cupboards are actually over flowing.
Him: Another dish? We don’t have anymore room. Seriously Jenn. Me: I know, I know buuuuut it’s a square one. I don’t have a square one. It’s little – look! *proceeds to stack uncomfortable on top of 25 round ones* Him: I’m serious. No more. Dishes are taking over the house.
I’m obviously got a soft spot for dishes, however, if you’re a useless gadget in my drawer (like an avocado slicer, honestly people) you better say goodbye. Other than dishes, I’m in love with the color lime green and I could eat Aloo Gobi, an Indian dish with cauliflower and potatoes for every meal for the rest of my life. I have a random collection of vintage salt and pepper shakers that decorate the shelves by the kitchen sink. I like rolling out dough for pies, eating chocolate chips out of the bag and sweet red peppers. In my non-city living life, my hubby and I live in a tent in the rocky mountains where we add to our list of completed mountain summits.

I see people using plastic bags in the grocery store every weekend. It makes me angry sometimes. When will our local government ban these ugly plastic bags? Sometimes, I wanted to tell the people in line to just bring their own plastic bags or get a few of durable green supply bags. These bags last me a long time. I even don’t remember the last time I paid for the bags. Do yourself a favor, buy a few of these reusable bags and put them in your car. Even better, give it to the nice person in front of the line when you see he/she is asking for plastic bags.
